Lecture/Seminar 1 - Renaissance

The European Renaissance was between the 14th and 16th century.

• Started because the main cities in Italy were at war which eventually resulted in a flourish of creativity.
• A chance to celebrate freely the human form.
• The Socratic Method - named after the Greek philosopher Socrates - a method of inquirey and debate between individuals with opposing view points. Questions are asked to stimulate rational thinking and new ideas.
